One of the newest homes to be rehabilitated in Old North
Knoxville is 502 E. Scott. Built in 1906 for H.A.E. Parsons this Queen Anne Style home also has Neoclassical influences.
A hip roof with front and side dormers add importance to the house. The one-story three
quarters front porch has rounded wood columns with Ionic (Scamozzi) capitals and sawn wood
balustrade. The first floor front leaded facade windows are original. There is a brick interior offset rear chimney.
Mantels are oak with hand beveled mirrors.
When purchased one year ago, this modified four square had been stripped of its interior, broken into seven apartments and
condemned. The current owner has reclaimed this structure to two family status. Light filled rooms, bright colors and
polished wood floors make this home a wonderful new asset for the neighborhood.
