The Time Warp Tearoom is located in a one
story, brick Vernacular Commercial building that was part of the Happy
Hollow businesses that flourished on this section of Central in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Happy Hollow was a gathering spot
for surrounding residential neighborhoods, and is fondly remembered by
residents and their children. The interior of this building has been
carefully rehabilitated and furnished with details from that era.
Notice particularly the carefully designed metal ceiling, the booths,
and the coffee bar. Since it was established, the Time Warp has once
again become a gathering spot for Old North Knoxville and Fourth & Gill
residents, and for preservationists across the city, as well as those
that enjoy its coffee, musical offerings, and the congeniality of its
owners.
