 The Margaret F. Stuart House,
built in 1891, is a newcomer to the Old North Knoxville neighborhood. This
two-story George Barber-design home had an original location about 800 feet
away, on W. Scott across Central. It stood alone, threatened with demolition, until an Old North resident,
Sean Bolen, contracted to move it to this vacant lot in January 2006. Original
details include the interior stair. The floor plan has been returned to its original design, and exterior and interior details have been restored or
recreated to duplicate the originals. This house is for
sale.
