This c. 1915 Craftsman style house is one of the few in Knoxville with
a very strong Oriental influence. Sled runner shaped brackets support the
overhanging front porch, while wood lintels above the windows and front
entry echo the curvilinear roof brackets. Elaborate front windows with
curved upper sashes extend the Oriental theme. The Craftsman details of
the house include the small paned upper portion of the front entry
sidelights, the bay window on the south elevation, and the heavy front
porch columns and brick buttresses that mark the entry to the front
porch. 708 E. Scott has recently been renovated and is for
sale.
