1001 Thompson Place

This classic, two-story frame, Queen Anne Victorian home with its spindles and dentil trim, rounded porch with gazebo under turret roof, and balcony with fancy scroll work was constructed in 1898. Fortunately, it has somehow remained a single family residence. High ceilings, hardwood floors, and original transoms are found throughout and it has three solid oak fireplaces and an oak paneled staircase to the second floor master suite and other rooms. Many of the replacement pieces have been painstakingly re-crafted, with emphasis on authentic restoration. A board and batten carriage house, one of the few to survive in Knoxville, has been restored out back and a reflection pool adorns the well manicured landscape to the right of the front porch steps. This home features many elegant furnishings and decorations including a mural on the dining room ceiling.
