This
1890 Queen Anne Cottage has been painstakingly restored and rebuilt. The house sat abandoned for several
years after a fire damaged much of the interior, then went through a rapid succession of several owners before being purchased by its current owner.
As he began the process of removing artificial wall siding on the exterior and fire damage and extremely deteriorated interior materials, he quickly
discovered that very little remained of the original house except the foundation, much of which needed to be rebuilt. Undaunted, he carefully
rebuilt the deteriorated structure in its original design, except for a code-required front porch railing. Original, gracefully filigreed sawn wood
bargeboards highlight the house's gables, wood siding and corner boards highlight its era of construction, and interior details speak to the era of
its original construction. The house once again overlooks the corner of 4th and Leonard Place and First Creek, as a testament to its architectural
significance and the owner's dedication to preservation of the neighborhood's architectural fabric.
