This Queen Anne Cottage, with its characteristic hip and gable roof and bay windows, was built around 1900. It features many typical design details often incorporated into Queen Ann style homes. The recessed, leaded glass transom and sidelights at the front entry and the fluted round wood columns on the front porch are indications of the strong Victorian influence. The original woodwork, built-in dining room hutch, and hardwood floors are very well preserved. The original tile fireplaces and mantels, one for almost every room, are still intact. Modernization has been largely confined to the kitchen and bathroom, preserving the beauty and simplicity of this cottage. A one-story garage was added in the rear yard around 1920. In the 1950’s and 1960’s a small grocery store was operated out of this garage.
