This Colonial Revival style house was constructed in 1899 by E. W. Gillespie. Previously gutted and converted into six apartments, it is now a single-family home featuring beautiful stained and beveled glass windows, period ceiling covering and lighting, oak hardwood floors, and beaded oak trim. Each of the three bathrooms contains a cast iron tub with brass feet. The kitchen is custom designed by a left-handed carpenter with a right-handed hammer and nails. The house also features an unusual sunroom with a cathedral ceiling. In the dining room is a unique octagonal ceiling. A one-story wrap-around front and side porch with wood columns on brick piers supports an upper balcony, and there is a large covered back porch with wood columns. A recessed transom and sidelights adorn the front entry door. Poplar siding was milled to match the original. Inside, the owners have added their own unique touches.
