The 20th century saw the evolution of new styles that diverged from the
Victorian, but still retained the woodworking and other decorative details so prevalent in Victorian-era homes.
This house, built in 1910, was designed in a Tudor Revival style typical of the new
influences of its era. Tudor details include interior woodwork, exterior stucco and
half-timbering, a gable roof with shed dormer, and sixteen-light upper window sashes. The one
story wrap-around front and side porch with its tripled and doubled wood columns, balcony on the front, and the Porte Cochere still point to an era
when outside living spaces built neighborliness. The sidelights and transom at the front door add to the historic architecture of this grand stylish
home. Note also the guest house in the rear.
