Semi-Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale Saturday October 7th, rain date October 14th. ONK will place an ad in the Knoxville News Sentinel. Signs will be put up in the
neighborhood and the surrounding area on Friday. Anyone is welcome to set up. The last neighborhood wide yard sale had at least 20 participating households. If you are looking for something, chances are someone will be getting rid of it.
First Creek Cleanup October 7th
Everyone that doesn’t intend to collect knick-knacks at the yard sale should make plans to collect trash at First Creek. Meeting place is the corner of Luttrell Street and Hoitt Avenue (right over the foot bridge, if you are walking) at 8:30 a.m. ONK will provide lunch for volunteers after the cleaning efforts.
Neighborhood Hike November 11th
A group of neighbors is planning a hike in the Smoky Mountain National Park. No final decisions have been made for trail or time, but if you are interested, e-mail
Ernie Roberts at
for more information.
Neighborhood Cleanup November 18th
Dumpsters will be placed throughout the neighborhood. Please be respectful of the dumpsters. They should not be filled over the top; they should not be used for construction materials or hazardous waste. Failure to comply with city rules will mean that ONK can not receive free dumpsters in the future. Meeting place is 124 E. Scott Ave at 9 a.m. Trash bags, gloves and lunch will be provided.
18th Annual Historic ONK Victorian Holiday Home Tour December 2nd & 3rd
The annual tour is just two months away and a fabulous slate of homes is lined up for the 2006 event. The tour benefits several charities and funds neighborhood events like the ice cream social, as well as markets our neighborhood to potential new neighbors looking for a great neighborhood with great architecture and character. Currently, we are selling calendar ads for the home tour calendar. Ads are available for both businesses and neighborhood residents. Businesses can buy ad space for $250, $500 or $1000. Price is based on the ad size. Residents can buy a daily ad for $20. This is a great way to make a contribution to the neighborhood and announce a special day like your birthday or an anniversary. Each year, 2000 calendars are printed and distributed during the home tour and to neighbors. To buy an ad, contact
