"Who Ya Gonna Call?": City and County Help Lines

Ever try to find the number for the codes enforcement department to report an overgrown or dirty lot?  Or maybe you had a question about parks and recreation.  In August 2005, Knoxville established 311 as the one number to call for codes issues and park questions, as well as athletics, brush pickup, city court, dead animal pickup, garbage complaints, leaf pickup, parking tickets, pothole repair, recycling, solid waste information, street light outages, storm drains, and street cleaning. Open from 7:00 AM -5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, the service is presently handling about 750 calls a day.  If you have trouble dialing 311, you can dial 215-4311 for the same service.

Have a question about Knox County, an event or a service, a codes issue, or concern about the schools or library? To receive help, you can call 215-HELP (4357) weekdays during business hours. While not exactly the same as the 311 number for the city, the people at this number will help you get in touch with the correct department to answer your questions.
