Old North Knoxville Holiday Home Tour

While the weather outside may be dropping more leaves than snow, and while the Thanksgiving turkey isn't even thawed yet, like elves at the North Pole, several of your Old North Knoxville neighbors have been diligently working away on this year's 14th Annual Old North Knoxville Victorian Holiday Home Tour.

We at Old North News have heard that Santa Claus plans to visit the neighborhood during the tour, and that he will speak to good little girls and boys of all ages and sizes as they tour the home of Chester Kilgore on Grainger Avenue. Another home on the tour features a water garden complete with bridges and a small waterfall that guests will be allow to walk through after touring the house.

So, make plans to attend this chance to not only tour historic homes, but even have an historic time yourself.  Details in the next issue of Old North News.

Also, the Tour is looking for volunteers to help. People are needed to run the ticket booth, be tour guides on the buses, and be greeters at the homes on tour. If you can help, please contact Tour chairwoman Danelle Owenby at 633-8629 or send her an e-mail at dnd0527@hotmail.com. You don't have to live in the neighborhood to help out, and you don't have to volunteer for the entire two days of the tour. You only have to have a love of historic homes and a little bit of the Holiday Spirit.
