PARC to Meet in Old North Knoxville

As if there aren't already a bunch of activities going on in your neighborhood, we are also honored to behost of the Knoxville Police Advisory and Review Committee meeting on Thursday, October 18, 2001.  This meeting will be held at the 4th Presbyterian Church at the corner of Glenwood and Broadway, beginning at 6 PM.

The PARC was created by Mayor Victor Ashe by executive order on September 22, 1998.  It is designed to be an independent agency with the authority to review and/or investigate allegations of misconduct filed by the public against the Knoxville Police Department.  It is composed of seven citizens of the City of Knoxville, appointed by the Mayor for a term of three years.  The committee has hired an Executive Director who is a full-time employee of PARC.

Old North Knoxville is honored to be asked to host this PARC meeting and we know our neighborhood will respond with a full house at 4th Presbyterian on the 18th.  Lets all show up and support this vital community asset.  Hopefully, in addition to the PARC members, there will be a full contingent of KPD officers and possibly even Chief of Police Phil Keith present.  Grab this chance to meet our local law enforcement officials.
