What is Better than the Old North News?

While I think that the Old North News is one of the best newsletters in the Knoxville area, I have to admit that our Old North Knoxville web stie is even better at getting the news out.  Located at www.oldnorthknoxville.org, this web site is filled to the brim with news and pictures about our neighborhood.  And since it is always on, news can be gotten out to more people faster than this newsletter ever could.  As a result, you could learn about 229 East Scott avenue being saved before anyone else had the story.  In fact, with that one, we beat the TV and News Sentinel.  As a matter of fact, the story about 229 located elsewhere in this newsletter was originally on the web site.  Thanks to Kim Davis and David Booker, we were able to reprint it here.  We also "borrowed" the article on our upcoming porch tour from the web site.  By the way, this newsletter is also reprinted on the web site in case you lose your copy before you have had a chance to memorize it.

Artist's rendition of the webmaster back in 1981Kim Davis is our unpaid though much appreciated webmaster.  It is through her efforts that we are able to have this wonder community asset.  And if you don't think anyone reads it, you should have been here a couple of months ago when one of the local television stations called on a Sunday afternoon for more information on one of the stories from the web site!  If you have some information or a story you would like to see on our web site you can get hold of Kim by clicking the email icon at the bottom left hand of the web site.  Try it and help us become an even better informed neighborhood!
