Want to See Your Name in Lights?
|
|
By David Booker Well, maybe not in lights, but you could see your name in the newspaper or displayed on the TV screen. In the past few months, Old North Knoxville has been on two of the local TV stations (WBIR and WATE) and in The Knoxville News-Sentinel. In all these pieces the reporters wanted to speak to, quote, and show people from the neighborhood talking about the accomplishments of Old North Knoxville and its residents. What we at Old North News would like to know is if you are willing to speak to the media as the need arises. Saying “yes” does not obligate you to speak to a reporter the next time a “spokesman” or “spokeswoman” is needed. What saying “yes” does is let us know you are willing to speak to the media should you have the time and inclination. When you send us you name, phone number, and e-mail address, you can also tell us what subjects you feel comfortable speaking of. For example, renovation of the interior of an historic home versus restoration of the interior of an historic home. If you have no particular subject, that’s fine, too. Expertise in an area is not required. Send your name, phone number, and e-mail address (if you have one) to dbbooker@bellsouth.net or call 673-8995. Or let us know at the next monthly meeting. We need you to speak up for Old North Knoxville. Return to newsletter table of contents
