Let’s Eat

One of my fondest memories of growing up way back in the Middle Ages was the
potluck dinners. Seems there was one at least once a month either at church, the
Grange hall, PTA or in the neighborhood. You never knew what you might get, but
it was always good. I’ve been to potlucks with nothing but salads or desserts,
and once Lynne and I went to one where Lynne provided the only entrée. I have
never been to a potluck where there was not enough food to eat, however, and
perhaps the best thing about them is the fellowship you enjoy while sitting down
and eating.
With these fond memories in mind, your Old North Knoxville neighborhood is sponsoring an old fashioned neighborhood potluck dinner Friday, June 7. Our good neighbors at 4th Presbyterian Church at the corner of Broadway and Glenwood have agreed to let us use their fellowship hall for this function. The festivities start at 6:30PM and will end when we are all stuffed. Your neighborhood group is furnishing the entrée (it’s a surprise) and beverages. We ask that you bring a salad, vegetable, bread or dessert to share as well as plates, cups and silverware for your family. Please join us for this wonderful family function. We have no agenda or speakers, we just want to enjoy a meal together as a neighborhood and get a chance to know each other better. Return to newsletter table of contents
