Start of a new year, a chance for a new beginning or to continue something that you started last year, but want to build on. Your membership to the Old North Knoxville neighborhood association probably falls into one of those categories. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the number of people paying for a membership has declined. The cost of one year membership has remained $10 for a single member and $15 for a family. A business can purchase a one-year membership for $50.
Membership money is used to help pay for hosting potlucks (at least 3 a year), the ice cream social, pay for awards for the Holiday decorating contest, and helps Old North Knoxville make contributions to such organizations as the Fulton High School scholarship fund and Meals-on-Wheels. It even helps us maintain the neighborhood web site, www.oldnorthknoxville.org, and get this newsletter into your hands.
Volunteers do many jobs that make Old North Knoxville a better place to live, but even elbow grease and passion for a better neighborhood need some money to be successful. For that, we need your help.
Therefore, if you want to see things such as the park on Oklahoma more forward or clean ups of First Creek and the neighborhood continue, then write that check for $10, $15, or $50 today. Make the check out to Old North Knoxville, Inc. and send it to Old North Knoxville, P.O. Box 3896, Knoxville, TN 37927-3896.
Thank you for helping make Old North Knoxville a better place to live.
