The President's Corner
Changes and rewards

By: Tomica Miller

The holidays have come and gone.  It's almost a cliche to say it, but they pass too quickly, pulled along by a pace that is much too fast. Before a light bulb burns out on your Christmas tree, the season is over and it is time to take down the decorations and move further into a new year.

Above, the house at 218 E. Scott was one of 2003 decorating contest winners.

Speaking of moving, before I mention the winners of the 2003 Holiday Decorating Contest, I want to remind everyone that the location of our monthly neighborhood meetings has changed. We are now meeting at the Fourth Presbyterian Church at the corner of Broadway and W. Glenwood. We will start off the first meeting of the new year in our new location with a potluck. Hope to see you January 29th.

Now on to the winners. Last year there were 6 winners. This year, The judges found seven decorated homes to honor as winners. Each winner receives a $25 gift certificate from Kroger.

This winners are: Richard Cameron and Tracy Kaufmann of 218 East Scott Ave., Mary Labroski of 429 East Scott Ave., Judy Paxton of 1121 Cornelia Ave., Stephen Henderson of 205 East Oklahoma Ave., the Andersons of 404 East Oklahoma Ave., Sean and Jennifer Bolen of 215 E. Oklahoma, and Stanley Bansky of 1417 Grainger Avenue.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who decorated your homes this past holiday season. The Home Tour would not have been the same without your help.

See you at the potluck!
