Welcome New Neighbors

Old North Knoxville welcomes our new neighbors.  If you are new to our neighborhood and you are not mentioned, please accept our apologies and contact us so that we can see that you are introduced in our next newsletter.  Likewise, if you know someone who is new and not mentioned, let us know so that we may welcome them to the neighborhood.

After years of controversy and neglect, the Dunn Mansion on Armstrong Avenue has new owners, Charlie and Juliette McVay and their family, who are dedicated to bringing it back to its former grandeur.  Welcome!  The neighborhood is excited to have you aboard and we look forward to watching the Grande Dame come alive again.

Just as exciting to me is seeing what is happening across the street from me at 131 E. Scott Avenue.  This wonderful "Four Square" has been sitting vacant and slowly deteriorating since before we moved into the neighborhood and we are happy to welcome Kevin Montgomery  as our new neighbor.  He is also hard at work transforming this house into an asset to the neighborhood.

Does moving within the neighborhood count?  Friend and neighbor Dave Vogel is the proud new owner of 502 E. Scott Avenue.  Our understanding is that he intends to renovate it into a 2-family and move into it himself.  Congratulations Dave!  And, by the way, the neighborhood would like prior approval to any new colors used.

As I write this, Tom and Donna Breehko have just closed on 510 E. Scott Avenue and are hoping to move in within two to three weeks.

Welcome to Phil Morton and family.  They have just bought and moved into 202 E. Scott Avenue.

Notice how many new people we have on E. Scott Avenue?  It means another street in the neighborhood is on the upswing and that is exciting for the entire neighborhood.

Welcome to all our new neighbors.  We hope you find the neighborhood to be as congenial as we do.  We look forward to meeting you and having you join us at neighborhood activities (including our monthly meetings).
