Old North Supports PBS

Old North Knoxville has a long and proud tradition of supporting good works in and around our community.  On Thursday, March 16, we again have an opportunity to show our support by manning the telephones during our local Public Television stations semi-annual fundraising period.  Old North has been doing this since before my family and I moved here and I certainly feel it is for a worthy cause.  (I love "This Old House," "The New Yankee Workshop" and "Antiques Road Show.")

Our neighborhood has committed to having 12 people man the phones from 6:30 PM to 11 PM, and they do feed us!  Last year I ate my weight in Krystals.  Even though our local PBS, on its promos says it is in Sneedville, the studios are actually within a couple of miles of Old North at 1611 Magnolia Avenue.  If you can help in this fun and worthy event, contact Andy Anderson at 523-2005 and he'll be glad to give you more details.  I'm sure we can also arrange for transportation, if needed.
