Homes for the Holidays

Pictured is 229 E. Scott, one of the homes on the Old North Knoxville Victorian Holiday Home Tour, December 6-7.

What began 15 years ago as a reason for Old North Knoxville residents to visit each other during the holidays, has grown into an annual event attracting over 1,000 visitors from around the corner, around the county, and even around the state and beyond.

This year's home tour will have a mix of large and small homes, and styles ranging from Victorian to American Four Square to Spanish influence to a home (maybe two) that is an eclectic mix of architectural ideas.

Volunteers and the homeowners are working like Santa's elves, feverishly getting things ready for your arrival. We hope you will make time to attend and enjoy a holiday "taste" of one of Knoxville's premier historic neighborhoods decorated for the holidays.

For details, call 865-523-4665 (HONK) or go to http://www.oldnorthknoxville.org/hometour.htm. Advance tickets available at area Kroger. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the days for the tour.

Happy Holidays!
