'Tis the Season: Things to be Thankful for

At this time of year, there are many things to be thankful for, friends and relatives, neighbors and even the smile of a stranger as you rush around trying to catch up to the holidays. We at Old North News would like to take a moment to thank a few people for things they have done in the past few months.

Thanks to Scott Schimmel for taking the time to mow the yards of the two houses next door to his. Though the season for lawn mowing may have passed, when the weather was warmer and the mosquitoes were plentiful, he undertook to keep the grass down without even being asked or getting paid.

First Creek debris that was collected by volunteers.

Thanks to the kind person or persons who went ahead and did some cleaning up on First Creek though the clean up was called off. We don't know who you are, but getting into the creek to pull out shopping carts, a wooden pallet, and several bags of trash is very much appreciated.

Thank you to the sponsors of our 14th Annual Victorian Holiday Home Tour. Our sponsors include Comcast, Kroger, St. Mary's, and WUOT. Without their assistance our tour would not be as successful as it is. They help us sell tickets, provide parking, and help promote the tour. We appreciate all they do for us. And thank you to all who attend the tour. Your attending helps us make our neighborhood a better place to live.
