Old North Knoxville is blessed with a wide variety of home styles, from Queen Anne cottage to American Four Square. This year's Holiday Home tour features such a selection of homes. Old North is also blessed in that we have 11 homes on tour. For anyone buying a ticket that is less than a dollar a house to view examples of history that are not in a book or a museum, but in the hands of everyday people. Everyday people, that is, who have a love for and appreciation of the unique history that is Old North Knoxville and Knoxville, Tennessee.
If you ask each homeowner (and when you take the tour, please do) why he or she lives in an old home, you will probably get as varied answers as there are homes. That is the beauty of Old North Knoxville: the answers are as individual as the homes. Yet each home, like each individual, contributes to make Old North a one of kind place to tour or live. The tour is Saturday, Dec. 7th, 4 p.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8th, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. There will be free parking and a ticket booth at St. Mary's Hospital on Woodland Ave. Tickets are $10 the days of the tour. You will receive a calendar with a description of each of the homes. It is our gift to you. On Saturday, we are asking all residents of ONK to turn on their porch lights to help light up the festivities. Come join us. We will have homes to tour, a visit from St. Nick, carolers to serenade you, snacks you can enjoy - and we'll even take you around from home to home in our free buses. It will not only be a holiday adventure you're sure to enjoy, but a bit of history you won't forget. You might even decide you want to join us. Several homeowners on the tour found their homes by taking the tour. You may, too. For more information call 865-523-4665 or click here. Return to newsletter table of contents
