Yoga in the 'Hood

One of the things we try to do with this newsletter is let everyone know what is happening in the neighborhood. To that end we are pleased to announce that one of our neighbors is offering Yoga right here at St. James Episcopal Church each week. Annalee Bohon, the instructor, says that the intention of this class is to make Yoga available to Old North Knoxville and Fourth & Gill residents, as well as members of the Knoxville community and the St. James Episcopal Church. The type of Yoga offered is Hatha and the class meets each Monday at 7:00 PM at St. James Episcopal Church. Fees are $8 per class (payable each week) of $56 per 8-week session (payable at first class of each new sesion). The first session began October 29 and runs through December 17. Annalee assures me that you can join at any time and still benefit from the sessions and my wife seconds that. She has been going for several weeks now and really enjoys it. (I "have" to bowl on Mondays and can't go.) Instructor Annalee Bohon, a member of Old North Knoxville neighborhood (and tour participant this year), has been teaching Hatha Yoga for just over a year. She first studied yoga in 1994 in France, and continued her studies in the states at the Yoga Society of Rochester, a householder ashram in New York State. She has experienced many different styles of Hatha yoga, such as Kundalini, Kriya, Lyengar, Sivananda, and Astanga, and teaches in several locations locally. Questions? Call 524-8817.
