The President's Corner

Wow! There are so many positive projects and activities going on in Old North Knoxville, it is awe inspiring. We read about most of our ONK projects in this newsletter, on the ONK web site www.OldNorthKnoxville.org, or the ONK e-group, but there is so much more happening, sometimes we just can't cover it all. I urge everyone to attend and participate in our ONK monthly meetings, held on the last Thursday of every month except December, to see first hand what is going on in our active neighborhood.

Because of all the wonderful projects going on in ONK, we are sometimes tempted to say "Enough already, the plate is full!" Sometimes we feel the need a larger plate, because there is still so much to do and accomplish in our efforts of making ONK everything we each want it to be. Thinking about that larger plate causes me to wonder whether we are neglecting some important projects in our efforts. Maybe as you read this, and thank you for taking the time, you have an idea of something you would like to see ONK do to make the neighborhood even better, or of greater service to Knoxville as a whole.

If you have an idea or a project in mind that you think might be beneficial to all of us in ONK, I would love to hear about it. Of course, we can't do everything, but sometimes a simple idea or important item gets overlooked. So I'm asking for your input in finding some of them.

You can share these ideas with me by phoning me at 384-6132. If you don't get me, please leave a message and your phone number (speak slowly). I will phone you back. You can also e-mail me your thoughts to or you can send them to the ONK P.O. Box 3896, Knoxville, TN 37927-3896.

I look forward to hearing from you and hearing some great ideas for making ONK an even better place to live and play than it already is. I'll share any suggestions with the ONK Board and various committees and see what we can accomplish together. Thank you for taking the time to think about your neighborhood.
