Some businesses are like mature people: they have established reputations. However, some businesses are just starting to establish themselves. This is the case with Bliss Home and Art at 24 Market Square in historic downtown Knoxville.

Owned by Lisa Sorensen, a resident of Old North Knoxville, Bliss is about two months old. As a young business with an enthusiastic owner, Bliss hopes to capture part of "the new feeling alive in downtown Knoxville" with a selection of local artwork, original jewelry, and bath and body, bridal registry, birthday, anniversary and corporate gifts. There are even a few accessories for the home, such as full-length free- standing mirrors, distinctive storage cabinets, and tableware for your home.

"Bliss Home and Art is committed to bringing all things beautiful and interesting to the homes of Knoxville," Lisa said. "From stylish new furniture with simple lines and a touch of urban class to the finest in tableware, Bliss offers everything you need to make your home beautiful and unique."

At present, Bliss is open Mondays - Thursdays 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., Fridays 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Saturdays 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Once renovations are completed on Market Square, Lisa plans to open her shop at 10 a.m. Mondays - Fridays. She can be reached at 865-329-8868.

Bliss's motto is "Live Well, Give Great Gifts." Lisa feels fortunate to both live in an historic home in Old North Knoxville and own a business on historic Market Square. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there were many more people like her, living well in and around downtown and working close to home. Even then, Knoxville residents gave great gifts to their friends and relatives. With Bliss, you can start that tradition again.
