Editors Note: We in Old North Knoxville
are very fortunate to be represented on the Knoxville City Council by Rob Frost.
While some of us have known Rob for a number of years, it occurred to me that
many of our readers may not know much about him, so I asked him if he would
submit an article to the Old North News introducing himself to the neighborhood,
and he graciously agreed.

My wife, Erin, and our 17-month-old boy, Sonny, live in 4th & Gill on Luttrell Street, but my family has deep Old North roots. My great-grandparents owned what is now an Agape house on the corner of East Scott and McMillian and when my grandmother got married, she and my grandfather bought the house next to where the
Lavoies now live on East Scott.
Both Erin and I are from Knoxville and we've lived in 4th & Gill since 1996.
I practice law downtown and graduated from Tulane Law School, where I got a love for old houses living in New
Orleans Garden District.
In part of my law practice, I've set up (as well as help manage) two neighborhood old house groups that have bought and are renovating the homes as federal historic tax credit projects. One is the Camp-DeRobertis House at 1302 Luttrell Street where neighbors came together to save this neglected home. The second on is in the Park City neighborhood at 1712 Washington Avenue.
Besides representing Old North and the rest of the Fourth District on City Council, practicing law, being a husband and a father (not necessarily in that order), we are also working on our second home in 4th & Gill. Erin and I renovated a home on Caswell Avenue and then enjoyed it for about six months before taking on another project. Our current home is still a work in progress.
We've torn out and hauled off more than 15 tons of plaster, lathe and sheetrock while renovating. Hopefully soon our home will be in a condition suitable for our neighborhood home tour.
I=m also on the board of the 4th & Gill Neighborhood Organization as well as the board of Knox Heritage and I serve on the
City's Historic Zoning Commission. Furthermore, a business partner and I have also done project homes in Park City and 4th & Gill in our spare time. So, as you can tell, revitalization of neighborhoods such as Old North and 4th & Gill are important to me. And if anyone needs to contact me, feel free to call me at 544-3000 or email at tennlaw@awgd.com .
Thanks,
Rob
