Open Air Market

Owned and managed by Michael and Elizabeth Bowling, the Open Air Market has been in business for three years. The location itself, sometimes referred to as the Grainger Avenue Market, has been a market for over 20 years. Located at 1620 North Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and Grainger Ave., the Open Air Market’s motto and goal is to be the “neighborhood market.”

During the spring, summer, and fall, the Open Air Market is open Mondays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. They close down in the winter after selling Christmas trees. The market offers fresh produce, flowers, hanging baskets, herbs, potting soil, and mulch. The selection of produce includes watermelons, tomatoes, peaches, and an interesting vegetable called greasy back beans.

For more information, call 971-4176 or stop by. They are across the street from the BP station on Broadway, right at the Grainger Ave. entrance to Old North Knoxville.
