Some newer neighbors have said they would like to know some basic everyday names, numbers, and times which apply to
ONK. Here for the newer residents, and for us older ones too, are some things to know.
Trash Pick Up
Occurs every Friday. Place already bagged trash in covered trash containers. Place the filled trash containers at the curb or at the alley no sooner than 7:00pm Thursday evening. Remove the empty trash containers from the curb no later than 7:00pm Friday. Large items such as most appliances can be placed at the curb for city pick up. Carpet must be rolled and tied for pick up. Generally, a separate truck will pick up large items, not the regular trash collection truck.
Brush Pick Up
Occurs every two weeks. Phone 311, give them your address and they will tell you what day the city comes to pick up brush on your street. Brush will be picked up on the day you are told, and every other week there after on that same day. Brush should be placed at the curb or the alley, not blocking the street, alley or sidewalk.
Do not mix brush with trash, as it can not be picked up.
