Recently, three people who have ties to
Old North Knoxville won preservation awards from Knox Heritage. Resident
Dan Schuh received recognition for his work two historic homes, one in Old North Knoxville at 201 E. Oklahoma and another house in Parkridge at 2023 Washington
Avenue. Both of these houses were among The Fantastic Fifteen. Husband and wife
Greg Hyde and Deborah Duncan also won an award for compatible new construction for the new-old house at 1335 E. Grainger. This couple also recently built a house on E. Oklahoma in Old North, and are working on houses on Grainger (the second there) and on Shepard
Street. Though they don't live in Old North, Greg and Deborah have taken a strong interest in the neighborhood. Congratulations to these people and their work.
