Meet the new editor of Old North News

Margo Kagan will be the new editor of Old North News starting with the July/August edition.

This being my opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Margo Kagan and I am going to be the new editor of Old North News.

I have lived in Old North Knoxville since the summer of 2004 and moved into my house on Kenyon Street in February of last year.  My first ONK home was featured on the 2004 Holiday home tour, which was my first real interaction with the neighborhood.  I was so impressed with the sense of community and how much fun it is to have old houses in common that I couldn’t imagine buying a house anywhere else.

Since moving I have been active with the creek- and neighborhood cleanups, newsletter labeling and tabbing, and most recently the welcoming committee, all of which I have enjoyed tremendously.

Although I am a communications major at The University of Tennessee, being a newsletter editor is a new, exciting challenge for me, which I am looking forward to taking on.  I have given some thought as to how I am going to fill the pages with as many interesting stories as your current editor and have many new ideas.  However, before I commit to a new content, I would love to hear from as many readers as possible.  I would like to know what you want to see more or less of and which of this old neighborhoods new developments interest you and maybe even suggestions and volunteers for guest columns.  For this purpose I have set up an e-mail address, .

I am looking forward to hearing from you and am excited about creating my first edition.  In the mean time, lets all take a moment to thank our current editor, David Booker, for doing a wonderful job over the past four years.
