"Who Ya Gonna Call?": Numbers You Need

With this issue of Old North News we begin to provide neighbors with important phone numbers and information on services in the area. If you've wondered who to call about something, or how to get something done, this may be the place to look. If you have suggestions for the column, or need to know who to contact, let us know. Maybe your question will be answered in the next issue. In this issue we'll tackle two of spring's biggest problems: Clogged storm sewers. The City of Knoxville's Storm Water Management team will be happy to help. Clearing clogged drains can help reduce flooding during spring rains and reduce mosquito habitat as the weather warms. Just report any clogged drains you see to them at 215-2148. They'll send someone out to evaluate & clear the problem.
Potholes are another of springs' challenges. Even in a mild winter, freezing and thawing of the roadbed can cause potholes. Call the Pothole Hotline at 215-6000 to report any problems you see.
