Neighborhood Happenings

Did you know that the Ft. Sanders Forum recommendations were accepted by the Metropolitan Planning Commission with an unanimous vote recently?  This is good for the Ft. Sanders neighborhood since it means they may be able to save at least the core of the historic part of Ft. Sanders.  It is also good for us in Old North Knoxville since part of the plan is to implement a Conservation District with Ft. Sanders, and that is also what we here in Old North are considering doing.  With it already accepted by the MPC, it means we should have no problem getting it accepted for us.

Since it is Spring, it must be time for 4th and Gill's annual home tour.  Their tour this year is April 29 and 20 from 2 to 6PM.  Tickets are $5.00.  last year's tour was a huge success and we wish them the best of luck again this year.  If you have the opportunity, don't miss this tour.

Did you know that May is Preservation month?  This year Knox Heritage has set a full schedule of events for Preservation Week, including tours, publication of the annual most endangered list, brown bag lunch seminars and a host of other activities.  Watch the News Sentinel and Metro Pulse for details of this important week.
