Old North Web Site Attracts National Visitors

If you haven't checked out our web site recently, you had better, so you can keep up with people from all over the country that are checking out Old North Knoxville via www.oldnorthknoxville.org.  Lynne and I recently received an e-mail from Donna Looper, who lives in San Diego, CA.  Seems she and her husband are relocating to Knoxville, where he has been appointed director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Law at UT.  They presently live in a 1915 craftsman bungalow in the Mission Hills area of San Diego (near Balboa Park for those familiar with San Diego).  They are interested in acquiring another older home in Knoxville that is either already refurbished or they would be amiable to doing the refurbishing themselves.  Donna got our name and e-mail from the Old North website and asked Lynne for information on Old North Knoxville and what might be available here for them.  If you have, or know of, a house that they might be interested in, please contact me, and I will insure that the information gets passed on to the Loopers.  Lynne has already sent them a copy of our guidelines and a calendar.

This little incident just points out the power and importance of the web and how it can even affect us here in Old North Knoxville.  By the way, as a point of interest, I did note that the e-mails have been addressed to Lynne alone, rather than either me or Lynne and me.  I can't help but wonder if that is not a reflection that in most groups and organizations the women seem to be the most active participants and Donna just assumed that Lynne would be the one to go to for help.  (She is right, of course.)
